A special note for 2020/2021: As the health guidelines surrounding the pandemic change, so will the structure of auditions. Please reread the instructions for your audition right before auditions occur to make sure you are aware of any changes that might have taken place. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding!

Students must attend both audition days and plan to stay the entire time.

Students should wear clothing and shoes that are comfortable to dance and move in.
This audition has the same structure as the auditions for Bexley Middle School and High School musicals, and will help prepare students for those auditions in the future.
Callbacks are a time when the director can see specific students read for specific roles and get a better understanding of where he/she fits into the cast. Simply because a student is on the callback list does not necessarily mean he or she will earn a part. Also, if a student is not on the callback list, that doesn't necessarily mean he or she has been cut. Only students listed on the callback list should attend callbacks. You can find the callback list on the callback page. It may be that callbacks won't be necessary. In that case, the cast list will be posted after the second audition date.

Zoom auditions/callbacks: Students will fill out and submit an audition form by October 11. They will then receive music, access to backing tracks, and a video of a short dance. Students will have to submit a video of singing a song and performing the dance by October 26. Students will attend live auditions on Zoom in time slots on October 26 or 27. During callbacks, students will be asked to perform various parts of the script as well sing songs using the backup tracks.
In person audition/callbacks: Audition forms are due October 25. These auditions will be run much like we have in the past however students will be divided into smaller groups. Students have to attend auditions for the full time on both days. They will learn a short dance, some short songs, and perform a short acting scene with a partner. During callbacks, students will be asked to perform more scenes and songs.
